| · Sysdump.txt fix for dedicated hosting
This is for Joint Operations
system specs.
p4 2.8
1024 megs of ram
onboard intel vid card (model doesnt matter)
Ok so here is the deal. I finally got this working. What you need is VNC or a
simular program loaded on the dedicated server Remote Desktop logging will not
work. Once you have installed VNC then run the install program to install the
game to your hard drive. Now patch the install. After the patch completes change
the shortcut icon by the way nova explains to the /serveonly.
Now the tricky part, close the game do not run it yet.
1.
Let's start with enabling the Hardware acceleration on our graphics card.
Simply right click anywhere on your desktop and select Properties
-> Settings tab -> Advanced -> and finally,
the Troubleshoot tab.
Now move the Hardware acceleration slider across to Full
Click OK
You may experience a monitor black out for a few seconds, this is normal.
2.
We now want to enable the full capabilities of DirectX. To do this, go to
Start -> Run -> and type dxdiag
followed by enter. You will get a dialog box asking if you want to allow dxdiag
to access the internet to check for valid WHQL certificates - click on
Yes.
Let's click on the Display tab, now click on all three boxes
to enable DirectDraw, Direct3D and AGP Texture Acceleration.
3.
upgrade your directX to 9.0b and then update your onboard vid drivers.
4.
Restart the computer then login via VCN.
5.
Click on the short cut you made to launch Joint operations. In the past this
is where the sysdump.text stopped you, now you should be able to continue with
no errors and set your server up.
*For those of you that have the ati rage 8mb pci card installed on your
server, simply submit a ticket to have the card removed and use the onboard
video to fix your problem with the steps above.*
